Happy Birthday Ellie!!
We started out the month of March with Ellie turning 5. I decided to do a friend party every other year, so this year we did lots of fun things with our family. We went on her birthday to the Disney on Ice, where they got this yummy sno-cone. I swear they loved it better than the show! Then we went to Leatherby's in S.L. for a yummy ice cream sundae. What a fun day!
The next day we had family over for cake and ice cream and a rousing game of 'kiss the frog!" She wanted a 'crown cake' so this is what we came up with. It sure is fun to be close to lots of family and have lots of support and love.
Addie taking her tun to kiss the frog! She had a hard time this birthday trying to understand why Ellie was getting presents and she wasn't. What she doesn't know, is that pretty much anything Ellie gets is really hers as well!
The birthday girl in her birthday outfit (she saved it for a month to wear at her party, such a girl!) and her cake! She's loving pink right now, and still loves princesses and dressing up and playing pretend. She's the BEST big sister and loves to help me with any project. I can't believe she's going to kindergarten soon! She is reading pretty well and loves learning new things.
The morning of her birthday we let her open her presents to play with that day. She only got to ride her jeep for a little while cause it rained and rained and rained......
During the week of spring break it was awful weather so we took a day and went up to the aquarium in Sandy. They absolutely loved it and had so much fun. They could have stayed for hours. I love this shot because this is how Ellie is. She loves to be the big sister and take care of Addie & Kenna. Her and Addie are the best of buds.
Happy Easter! Addie found her basket in the tub, and was SO excited to see the movie "The Princess and the Frog" in her basket!! I love her face in this picture.
She's also a huge waver, she loves to use her hands and will wave at everyone. She's a very social and happy baby!
Easter morning the girl's still wanted to get dressed up in their dresses even though we were only watching conference and there was snow on the ground! We were lucky to spend the afternoon with Great Grandma Johnson at Grandma & Grandpa Johnson's house, along with watching the last session of conference and Easter dinner. This is them watching conference with Great Grandma!
All dressed up! They love to match and get dressed up. Ellie is very 'pink' right now where everything has to be pink. She chose the colors and dresses with me. Hopefully we get some cute pics outside once it warms up.....if that ever happens!Happy Birthday Matt & Heather
The end of April brings both Matt's & my birthday's as well as his annual Anti-terrorist conference in NYC for work. So, I decided that rather than spend my birthday alone, I'd meet him out there and we'd spend a few extra day's together! What a great idea! This is the hotel we stayed in. Evidently they got special convention pricing. It was a super nice hotel!
WICKED!!! Can I just say UNBELIEVABLE! We loved it! It was a close call. Matt's contact wasn't able to get us the tickets he promised, so we ended up first in line waiting for a chance to buy the canceled tickets. We got in! Matt was a little nervous because everyone we know who has seen it has loved it and he was scared it wasn't going to live up to the hype....it surely did!
Hanging out in Times Square. We were lucky to spend Thurs. & Friday in Times Square and Sat. closer to our hotel in Soho eating in Little Italy and shopping on Broadway. The car bomb attack happened on Saturday and would have totally ruined that night. Good planning...! (like we knew though!)
We saw the Statue, Ellis Island, spent an afternoon in the Metropolitan museum, walked through Central Park, ate lots of hot dogs and pizza!
Thursday night we saw Mama Mia with front row tickets. It was great! It was really neat to watch the conductor do her thing with the orchestra....but this conductor was amazing. She was also the pianist! We were in awe the whole time. Such great talent! We had a great time together. Even though it was a short weekend trip, it was great to remember how much we have in common and how well we get along, how much fun we have together! Well, there's our last few months...in a nutshell!

wow, I feel like that update was just for me, finally!! Love it! the girls are so big, can't wait to see you guys in a few months:)
Those girls of yours are so yummy. I miss my girls being twinners. How fun that you got to go to New York. Jeff was there during that same weekend with his dad and sisters... too bad we didn't know. They went to a yankees game...fun but he would have rather seen those musicals with you. They stayed at the Marriott right on Time's Square and had lots of excitement with the car bombing thing. They were barricaded out of their hotel for a few hours then woken up at midnight by police escorting them all to the ballroom where they stayed until 4 in the morning. crazy! Be grateful you stayed where you did. We'll be in Provo for 4 weeks starting around June 20. Let's play lots!
