Last Friday night this is what Addilyn's room turned into! You know that scene in the movies where the piano falls through the ceiling...well that was my husband Friday night! I was teaching a lesson in YW on journal writing, so I thought it would be neat to get out the journal Matt's mom made from his dad. Because we've been showing our house to buyers, we've put a lot of things into the attic for storage. Well, I asked him to find that journal. I'm standing at the bottom of the ladder, and he's in the attic and I hear a HUGE crashing sound, but it was pretty continuous, so I'm thinking the box of books fell. I call to Matt to see if he's ok, and he doesn't answer. I started to freak out, climbed up the ladder and couldn't see him. In my head I'm thinking that I've got to call 911 because my husband has fallen and is knocked out. I was debating on whether or not a 8 month pregnant lady should try climbing into the attic and risk falling as well! I kept yelling for Matt to answer me, and finally I hear him say, "Heath, I'm ok"...but it doesn't come from the attic! He fell right through into Addie's room! I opened her door and there he was, sitting in the middle of the room COVERED and I mean COVERED in insullation and drywall. Addie was screaming because we had just put her to bed and here comes daddy through her ceiling! She slept that night in Ellie's room, and as I was trying to calm her down, she kept pointing to the ceiling and saying "Daddy, broke, Addie's, broke, Daddy, Addie's, broke." It was cute, but you could tell she was pretty traumatized!
Thank goodness Matthew's ok, we could have easily ended up in the ER that night, but we're thinking the changing table/dresser stopped his fall because it was pretty trashed. His arm was pretty bruised, but other than some shock, he's ok. His granddad thankfully knows how to do drywall, so he came over Monday morning and helped get the patching started. What a night!

I know that it isn't really that funny, but the thought of Matt falling through the ceiling makes it hard to contain the laughter! Thankfully he is ok that would make it not so funny!
I think I'd be a little traumatized too! I always think my hubby is going to fall through when he goes up in the attic, luckily it hasn't happened yet!
Wow! That is quite the night! Poor little Addie :( Sorry that happened!!!! Glad Matt didn't get hurt...it's only funny if noone gets hurt! Ill be honest...I was laughing at the thought of matt falling through the ceiling too! Im glad you didn't try to go up there and get the journal!!!
Oh my gosh! I'm so glad he's OK. What a time to have that happen too...right as you're trying to sell your house!
I'm trying so hard not to laugh because that is just SOOOOOOOOO awful but it is just too stinkin' FUNNNNNNNY!!!! Poor Addie!!! How traumatic!!!
that is the best thing I've ever heard, of course it would happen to Matt! Oh, to be poor little Addie, counting sheep only to have daddy burst through the ceiling. Start saving for therapy:0)
My Goodness! I am glad Matt's okay. I cannot even imagine that - it really is a scene from the movies! I know I shouldn't have, but I was totally laughing too. That makes for one crazy night.
Ha. Nice Brink. I would have liked to have seen that.
